Picture: New Snow on Volcano Villarrica, Chile

May 27, 2010: The storm clouds lifted overnight and we awoke to this beautiful view of Volcano Villarrica. Not a bad way to start the day. Itching to get up there!
Ski season starts in mid-June and fresh snow is being reported from resorts in Chile and Argentina with more in the forecast for tomorrow.

Volcano Villarrica, Chile this morning

The Andes ski resorts woke up to fresh snow and blue skies this morning. The forecast is for above average snows in South America this season due to El Nino.
The 2010 ski season gets under way in June.

South American ski resorts, including Las Lenas Argentina are receiving fresh snow today and tomorrow.
Season is scheduled to start in mid-June. Let's hope this keeps up.
